News: “Flying is like good music: it elevates the spirit and it's an exhilarating freedom. It's not a thrill thing or an adrenaline rush; it's engaging in a process that takes focus and commitment." - Harrison Ford

Registration Agreement

Yes, I know you're probably going to just ignore this.  Still, you should read it.  The items in bold may be important.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and inappropriate solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor every posted message (although we try), and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove any objectionable content, any time, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except maybe to an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason.  We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.  Do not use the same password here that you use elsewhere. Be sure to use a real, functioning email address that you check when you register. We will send a confirmation email to you; if that email bounces because the email address you provided was invalid, your account will be deleted.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clear and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does NOT collect or send any other form of information to your computer. We respect your privacy, and we expect you to respect other users.

We also expect you to behave yourself while you're here.  Before you post your first message, please review our Guidelines For Participation ("Pacific Northwest Flying Netiquette"), which can be found in the Forum Help > FAQ section. We take these guidelines seriously and ask you to remember them, helping to keep our community a friendly place to spend time.

All account registrations are screened.

Unfortunately, the world being the way it is today, and the internet being what it is, we get a lot of real low-life creeps attempting to use our forum for their own nefarious purposes, and we're not going to let them ruin it. So in order to keep our forum a pleasant place for all our members, we screen all registrations. Registration is simple, it just takes a moment, and if you have a sincere interest in our forum it should not inconvenience you at all. It's designed to inconvenience the bad guys.

Be sure to use a real email address when you register. Don't worry, we're not going to pester you or send you junk mail. But we will send you a confirmation email when your account is processed (and if we have a question about your registration, that's how we'll contact you).

Your account registration will be reviewed by a real human being. If things look OK, your account should be approved, usually within 24 hours (often much faster, but occasionally it might take a few days if we're very busy or away - please be patient). In almost all cases, the simple, basic information that you provide during registration is enough for us to tell if you're here because you're interested in the forum, or if you're here just to cause trouble (spammers). However, in a few cases, if we're not sure, we may need a little more information, in which case we will email you to follow up. If it appears that you are trying to hide or spoof details (such as your location in the world), your account is likely to be scrutinized more closely. For example, if you are using a proxy server (a way to hide your location) your registration is not going to be approved, because spammers use these. If you're signing up from Ukraine or Russia (or other havens for spammers), your registration is not going to be approved, because that's where the spammers come from (sorry, if you really are a legitimate user coming from one of those spam-friendly countries, you have our sympathies - but you're still not getting an account).

NOTE: If you are here to cause trouble, don't waste your time.

Thank you for your interest, we look forward to having you join our community.

- Pacific Northwest Flying

PS: We really do welcome new users, and we strongly encourage anyone with a sincere interest to please join us. If you have attempted to register for an account, and your registration was rejected, and you feel that was inappropriate/unfair/in error, you can send email to the admin explaining why you think you were unfairly rejected, and we will take a look. You can send mail to registration (at) pacificnorthwestflying (dot) com. We're very reasonable (as long as you're not a spammer).
